"While Timberland’s giving focus is generally on outdoor organizations, we’ve had the privilege to make a small difference in the Seacoast by partnering with Amy’s Treat. This year, we heard about a patient named Jessica for whom warm winter boots and clothing would be a treat. As Jessica’s energy levels are low these days, we met with her parents and took them on a little shopping spree through our company store. I watched her mother’s eyes fill with tears as I told her we could spend up to $1,000 on retail items. She couldn’t believe what a difference this would make to Jessica. We picked out a jacket, boots, socks, scarves, gloves, and hats that will keep Jessica warm as she continues her treatment and faces the cold winter ahead. As we rung up the items, Jessica’s mother gave me the longest hug I’ve received in a while. I know all of us at Timberland who have been involved with Amy’s Treat feel blessed to offer even some small assistance to our neighbors in the Seacoast community. "

We gave Amy's Treat a $100.00 gift certificate to the store. I was fortunate to be working when the woman who received the gift came in to redeem it. She was recovering from Breast Cancer, worn out, worrying about money for Christmas (a single mom of two girls) and wanting to be able to lift their spirits after what they had all been through. She cried with joy at being able to shop for them without worrying about how much things costs. I wish we had been able to give $1000.00. She was so thankful. It was one of the most moving scenes I had witnessed in my life.
"My name is Denise and I own Flowers On The Falls. I gladly donate flower arrangements once a month to a cancer patient from Seacoast Cancer Center through Amy's Treat. I wanted to share a couple stories. I delivered to an elderly lady when i first started doing this and her eyes filled with tears because she was so surprised that someone was sending her flowers. She said she hadn't gotten flowers in many years. That made my day! To tell you the truth when i call these wonderful people and tell them i have flowers for them they are always very surprised and seeing there faces smile when i deliver them is a great feeling. They usually tell me I made their day. It makes my day to know im helping! Thank you Amy's Treat for letting me make a difference in these people's lives!"
